If we choose not to be insulted, we won't be...

So much anguish and discomfort can be traced to what others say and do. People insult us, they demean us, they make us feel uncomfortable. Well, that last point is debatable; I think we make us feel the way we do, but you'll be able to identify with the concept as we've all felt that way at some time. Difficult customers, bullies at work, partners and spouses, friends and acquaintances. We've all been on the receiving end of verbal nastiness from people with whom we spend time.
How much more enjoyable would life be if it to recognise that we are not obliged to accept what people throw our way?
Eleanor Roosevelt put it well when she said that no-one can make us feel inferior without our consent.

This cartoon offers us a brilliant visual insight that many will, I hope, find invaluable and apply.
